Bob Woolmer: case continues

The search to find the cause of death of Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer continues. Over the last 5 weeks the speculation and conspiracy theories have caused controversy among the cricketing world. There is still no explanation as to why he died.
There are so many allegations towards people and this must cause unrest in the Woolmer family. Its a shame that the family are having to live in the shadow of this. They would prefer to mourn Bob though they want to know how he died.

No one is able to come to a logical conclusion and with the inquest scheduled for monday postponed there will sure to be more theories.

It seems that the longer the case goes on the more suspicious it is. If there is sufficient evidence then why is it taking so long? Surely it should be done and dusted as its clear cut. The problem is that witnesses are not willing to come forward amid speculation that they are falsely accused. How on earth are they going to come to a conclusion if the can not do a proper investigation.

Yesterday the News Of The World claimed that there is only a small chance Bob was murdered. This is due to traces of weedkiller found in his body. They claim that it would be very difficult for someone to murder him. How would they do it? Poison his drink and how would they know which drink he would open?

There are so many inconsistencys. The polioce investigating think he was drugged with snake venom. They have informed Gill Woolmer that her husband was probably subdued by a 'natural toxin' which left his body by the time of the forensic examination. However Neil Manthorp, South African commentator says the police told Gill and her sons Russell and Dale that the results are inconclusive.

The problem is there are to many theories and there are no consistent results. Everyone has their own view. Personally i sttill think Bob was murdered. This case is starting to remind me of rapper Tupac Shakurs's who died in 1996. It seems no one is willing to come forward. Evidence is limited, if not, then people are hiding information from the police.

Its a shame that Pakistan cricket has this on his head as well. They have had a traumatic year on and off the field. I sense that life goes on but there is still unrest. People want to know how the well respected coach died. Its shocked the world. The results unfortunately may turn out to be the most shocking part.

Super 8's

This phase of the compeition should have featured both Pakistan and India. However both were knocked out. In their places were Bangladesh and the Ireland. Its interesting to see how these two sides will do.
The teams who beat fellow qualifiers carry forward 2 points. So Australia, West Indies,New Zealand and Sri lanka stood at the top with two points each.

Im fully expecting the semi finalists to be Australia, South Africa, Sri lanka and new zealand. West indies and england may struggle to get through.

So on to the super 8 matches.

West indies vs Australia

South Africa Vs Sri Lanka

West Indies vs New Zealand

England vs Ireland

Australia vs Bangladesh

West Indies vs Sri Lanka

Bangladesh vs new Zealand

Ireland vs South Africa

England vs Sri Lanka

The super 8's have really kick started the competition. The game between SL and SA. Lasith Malinga, the SL paceman produced 4 wickets in 4 balls. A feat that has never been done.
The only other game that was a thrill to watch was the Sri Lanka vs England match. This was a terrific game. England bowled well to restrict SL. Kevin Pietersen played a wonderful innings. However his mistimed pull shot put England in trouble. Ravi Bopara and Paul Nixon gave England a chance.
It came down to 3 needed off the final ball. Fernando halted the ball release as he saw Bopara moving. When the final bowl was bowled, Bopara missed with his wild slash through the off side and the ball clipped off stump.
More matches like these will improve the world cup. Im hoping that the remaining games are crackers.
